Privacy policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
Your photographs and letters are personal. This page explains what Dear Future collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your photographs and messages, the recipient’s name and mailing address, the mailing date you choose, your email address, and your order and payment record. If you create an account we also keep your sign-in details, saved recipients and reminder dates.
How we use it
We use it to make and mail your postcard, send order confirmations and reminders you asked for, run your account, and answer your questions. We do not sell your information, and your photographs and messages are never shown on a public page. Our team does not read your messages or look at your photographs. Each message and photo goes through an automatic safety check when it is added, which looks only for harmful wording such as encouraging self-harm, threats or harassment, and for nudity, sexual or graphic violent images. No person reviews the result, and anything stopped is simply not accepted.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to deliver your order: our payment provider (Stripe) to take payment, and our printing and mailing partner (PostGrid), which receives your postcard’s photographs, message and the recipient’s address so it can print and mail the card. Email and hosting providers process the information needed to run the site.
How long we keep it
We keep your content and account until you delete it. A record of your payments is kept for accounting and legal reasons even after an account is deleted.
Your choices
Signed-in customers can download their information or erase their account, photographs and letters at any time from Privacy and your data. Deleting your account means scheduled postcards that have not yet been mailed will not be sent. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message.
Security
Photographs and messages are stored against your account, and the team’s order tool shows order references and dates only, not your photographs, messages or addresses. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.
Children
Dear Future is for adults. You may write letters to your children, but accounts and orders should be made by a parent or adult.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy, and the date at the top shows the latest version.
